About Evan Fish

Evan Fish was born on October 15, 2006 in Frisco Texas to his mother Erin Fish, an occupational therapist, and his father Daniel Fish, a pilot for American Airlines. At just a year old, the Fish’s moved to Wausau, Wisconsin where their family is and Daniel co-managed three McDonald’s restaurants with his father. Evan’s sisters, Molly and Madison were born in 2009 and 2012 respectively, and Evan went to Mountain Bay Elementary School

In 1st grade (2014), Evan tried a theater camp at Central Wisconsin Children’s Theater, where he discovered his love for the performing arts. After that, he began auditioning for roles with the theater company. He was cast in every show he auditioned for. In 3rd grade, after a school project where he and his group members had to make a short film, he discovered a love for filmmaking and started Friend Films Studio, a place for him and other kids like him to create homemade entertainment. The studio is still in operation today.

In 2018, the Fish’s moved to Fayetteville, GA as Daniel went back to pilot with Endeavor Airlines (eventually getting hired at United Airlines) as Evan went to Rising Starr Middle School. Evan was accepted into the Legacy Dream Conservatory Program and began performing at The Legacy Theatre. He became involved with the WoodCreek Summer Show Organization, a small theater group providing a camp-style theatrical show experience, creating a show in just one week every year. After assistant directing in 2018, he took over the organization as the director in 2019, and has been the director ever since.

In his sophomore year at Starr’s Mill High School, Evan became involved in their theater department, Thespian Troupe 6412 under the leadership and direction of Lauren Kuykendall and technical direction of Dakota Kuykendall. They became his mentors and he started to work in more technical areas of theater, areas he had always been interested in. He began to specialize in light design, but became trained and well-versed in all technical aspects of theatre. He received an Honorable Mention in the 2023 Georgia High School Musical Theater (Shuler Hensley) Awards for Best Lighting Design for his work on Anastasia, one of the first shows he designed and was nominated for STAR Council, around 20-30 high school students around the state that would work at the Shuler Awards at Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre in Atlanta.

Evan became a large part in Starr’s Mill High School Theater. He was nominated to run for a State Thespian Officer position and was elected as the Troupe President for the 2024-2025 school year, his senior year. He was once again nominated for STAR Council in 2024 and started as shadowing lighting designer Seth Robinson, before Robinson asked him to design one of the numbers in the Shuler Awards. This jumpstarted Evan’s professional career as he began to transition into the professional world as a lighting designer and director.
